Ui, great nose, if he can only keep up the level! (spoiler: he can't ...) Sweet with tropical fruits and lots of vanilla. Plums and grapes? Very soft for age and strength and with well-integrated alcohol. Very strong note of vanilla sugar (bourbon not vanillin). Not very complex, not much changes.
Then a little more alcohol in the mouth, finally some wax, more powdered sugar and vanilla with a bit of tart oak and tropical fruits, now also maritime tones and slightly mineral aromas. Salty and tastes of coast and sea.
The finish is unspectacular, rather short with a little pepper and still very maritime., An oily layer remains in the mouth.

Great whisky. I liked that very much. Despite the percentage, the Clynelish remains dangerously drinkable. Fortunately, I only opened the bottle. I look forward to it a few more times. : D
    • Nose
      White wine

The colleague starts right away with the typical Clynelish wax note. Very dense and almost tough in consistency. Creamy caramel - vanilla drop. Sweetened lemon tea. White Milka chocolate and cooked, light-colored fruits. Sprinkled with nutmeg. The alcohol is very restrained and only pleasantly cools the nose.
With a little time in the glass, a subtle, sour berry aroma is added. Has a bit of a Gewürztraminer. A floral scent is hidden behind it.
Great nose. I like it very much. Somewhat reminds me of Speyburn C&S when I was 7 years old. That was similar.
    • Taste
Full, sweet start. This waxy, creamy aroma immediately rolls over your tongue and pastes your mouth. Splendid. Honeydew melon, some herbs and that creamy caramel - vanilla candy again. The taste shows a light, woody dryness. Which brings a certain variety into the game. The white wine also comes into play here. However, a bit more spicy and powerful. With the second sip, the guy comes across stronger. Plus more wood and a trace of tobacco. Nevertheless, the light, preserved fruit flavors always stay nice at the start.

The empty glass smells surprisingly salty.
    • Finish
Rather long. Sweetish, but getting drier. Nutmeg and a sour berry aroma round off the interplay.

just another example how clynelish just makes great stuff. for the price of a little bit more than 50 € this is a true bargain.
    • Nose
moldy nose, on the first smell a bit harsh but opens up after a while. after some time the sizzy freshness comes thorugh with some floral notes. very sweet components, blossom honey, very pleasing sweetness
    • Taste
amazing stuff! unbelievable complexity for this age, some smoke in the back. fizzy saltiness. rick sweetness with some mineral components.
    • Finish
some waxy notes are left on the tongue. love it

As always nice and waxy with a Clynelish. What I have never had with a Borboun barrel was such a sulfur / match note. The thing is really dirty. If you like something, you should definitely try it here.
