If you're looking for a damn good blend, you've found it here. Very easy to drink and well balanced. BE CAREFUL not to accidentally drink the whole bottle in one go :)

I haven't tasted Kininvie but this is as good as Balvenie and much better than Glenfiddich.
Warm notes: toffee, orange, oak, dark berries, dates.
Good and tasty blend at suitable price. Very good vatted malt. I really enjoy sipping this. Cheers!

I am not the greatest fan of the spicy/medicinal turn at the end of the palate. But overall good value for the money, with a very friendly and pleasant nose, and a surprisingly long finish.

Sweet nose. Strong notes of vanilla. A lot of fruitiness, especially apple. Very pleasant and inviting.

The fruitiness is less pronounced than in the nose, which is slightly disappointing. It still starts of very sweet and friendly. Buttery, and vanilla is still prevalent. This quickly however make way for spicy, peppery ending. UsualIy, I like a whiskey that progresses, but the change here is a bit too abrubt. I know most people think the alcohol is very well-hidden, but to me there is a medicinal alcohol taste towards the ending, which I find a bit unpleasant.
    • Finish

Dry, oaky finish. The spiciness lingers, and the buttery vanilla makes a comeback in a surprisingly long finish.

It's a nice whisky for its price point. Does have to be introduced to oxygen for 10-20 minutes to really lay bare the sweetness when nosing. To me it smells more complex than it tastes. While the finish isn't spectacular, it does manage to linger for quite a while. I can see why this is recommended by many.
    • Nose
      83 83
Buttery artificial aroma, Vanilla, Toffee, Cafe Noir, Honey, Peach, hint of brown sugar, flower petals and green apples
    • Taste
      77 77
Starting with (salted) caramel and Cake dough sweetness at the tip of the tongue that progresses into a velvet smooth rounded and buttery middle with a spicy ending at the back of the tongue and palate.
    • Finish
      72 72
Herbal with sweetened butter and a lingering pepper and vanilla aftertaste

Appearance: Light to medium gold, oily.

Nose: Buttery, toffee, vanilla, honey. Very sweet, dessert-like nose. Slightly herbal, touch of oak, bit of biscuits.

Palate: Sweet, rounded, mellow, honey, butter and toffee. Slightly peppery and herbal. Some raisin and dried apricots. Chewy malts and some banana.

Finish: Peppery, honey, butter. Sweetness lingers as does the peppery heat.

With Water: Herbal notes come out, along with more fruit. Actually, some what makes it smoother and more enjoyable.

Overall: Quite sweet and dessert-like. Luscious but simple. Very much on the creamy, buttery side. Nice for the price, but better single malts are available for about the same price. This can get a bit boring.

    17,5/20
Easy and commercial. Nothing wrong with that! And so affordable.
    • Nose
Soft and sweet aromas! Vanilla, honey, floral perhaps? And a bit of spice. But not complex.
    • Taste
A tad sweet, smooth and rich for sure. Especially for the price. Slightly powerful but certainly easy-going.
