The much-smiled supermarket Jameson. Smooth, as you can find it written down on the label. But you do him a little injustice if you label him as a cheap home. Of course it doesn't show off flavors, but it cuts a fine figure with what it delivers (single pot still whiskey light). For 15 euros you can buy much worse whiskey.
    • Nose
      78 78
A mild and velvety nose. Green apple, banana, peach. Mild seasoning with nutmeg, savory and cinnamon. Develops over time, becomes fuller, the aromas become more intense and plastic. Now a little solvent too.
    • Taste
      81 81
Very soft initial contact with the tongue. Creamy. Sweet apples, bananas, peaches. Slightly dry. A mixture of spices that is reminiscent of those found in single pot still whiskeys from the same company: nutmeg, pepper, cinnamon, coriander. Toffee, nougat, milk coffee. Becomes increasingly dry.
    • Finish
      77 77
Even if you can't twist the aromas too much apart in the finish, it stays dry and fruity on the tongue for a relatively long time. Something just short of medium length, surprisingly. Otherwise: chocolate-flavored fruit cake.

light and smooth, great as a morning whiskey

Ever since I started experimenting with Irish whiskey, I've started to wonder what the classic in this bottle really tastes like.
So I bought a bottle out of respect.
(It cost about 15Euro, and the price of this bottle is unbelievable in the Taiwan market!)
After all, it is a bottle of whiskey that is only 4 years old, and my expectations are not too high,
Thankfully, when I tasted it, I thought it was better than most low-priced blended whiskies,
It's like Redbreast after a reduced-aged & adulterated grain whiskey.
I think he and Teacher's are the best of the cheap blended whiskies. But obviously, its flavor is not on the same level as single malt whiskey.

80 points for taste and 3 points for price, for a total of 83 points.
    • Nose
The aroma in the nose is where it performs best.
There is a distinct pot still creamy smell, some fruit, vanilla, caramel.
But there are very few of these flavors, most of which are overwhelmed by the monotonous alcohol flavor of grain whiskey, and the overall is very light.
    • Taste
      The bottle label says smooth,
Compared with other blended whiskies, it is smoother, yes,
But it may be that the grain whiskey content is too high, and the aroma is not enough. The smell in the nose is still present in the mouth, but very faint.
Well, looking at its price point, I can't say much more.
    • Finish
Sweet butterscotch and alcoholic flavours of grain whiskey.
At least it tastes better than the average low-priced blended whiskey.
At this price, I wouldn't ask for more.

A really pleasant and uncomplicated whiskey. No great depth, but solid and something for almost everyone. A neatly made blend that delivers what it promises for its price.
