I seem to be the only person who picked up funky notes compared to several other reviewers for this one so maybe take that with a grain of salt. Quite an enjoyable bottle overall and I always appreciate this style of whisky. Nice balance of sweet, salt and peat. I waffled between a range of scores but the final bottle pour was really solid and bumped it up a few points.
Pungent. Funky blue cheese, dirty socks, smelly feet, bacon grease, nice sweet caramel note, vanilla
Creamy mouthfeel. Super fatty pork belly, caramel, barley sugars, ashy smoke, very mild blue cheese crumbles, sea salt, touch of wood spice
Medium-long length. Light smoke and brine that transitions to a sugary ashtray aftertaste.
