Whisky Reviews for Balvenie 19-year-old

- Too expensive for what it offers, there are cheaper ones with the same or better quality, you can sense the marketing idea behind the stories
- Lacking any real depth.
Quite spirity on opening. As it develops its soft and delicate, a lot of sweetness coming through, honey and touches of vanilla. There a unique aroma lurking, a kind of grassiness which I do not usually get with Balvenie...I guess this must be the heather!
Palate has sweet honey which is quickly followed by oak notes. A slight bitter oak note is followed by vanilla pods and root.
Very light with not a lot going.
Soft and short with grassy note.
