Got a sample from a whisky calendar and I'm quite surprised! I have never had any whisky from Israel and it's a nice & easy drinker! The 46%, NCF&NC is a nice bonus! However, it feels young and not very complex. But will definitely keep an eye on those guys from now on!

Well, it doesn't taste bad so far. Definitely good to have tried. Light metallic youth cannot be hidden. But he is a bit behind in every area and sometimes seems a bit unbalanced.

First of all I have soft floral notes, some hay, fresh flower meadow, then something fruity joins which is well hidden. Apple, apricot, peach, some cherry. Some sweet honey comes out in the background. Vanilla and caramel are still included. Every now and then it has a slightly alcoholic effect on the nose.
    • Taste
      81 81
spicy, slightly alcoholic beginning, slightly metallic young, a few spices such as nutmeg and cloves are there. In addition, there is a slight oak note, and fruity notes are also rather reserved here. With a good will to find something orange, apple.
    • Finish
      81 81
short finish, spices, somewhat dry, wood

The nose needs time to open, you should give it a few minutes in the glass, as initial nosing is a bit harsh, but after 5-8 minutes, it really tones down revealing nice vanilla notes, some citrus peel, soft oak, and a mild fruitiness, maybe red berries (there are some STR wine casks in the vatting so that is not surprising). all in all very mellow, and well-composed.
    • Taste
easy drinking with a light-ish body, still on the same vanilla, wood, sweet barley sugars, oak, and a hint of pepper/ginger that adds a nice touch, getting dry towards the finish.
    • Finish
Short and sweet with more dry wood, spice, bitter chocolate, and char.

Not impressed although admittedly this isn’t my favorite style of whisky. I like the overall presentation in terms of 46%/NCA/NCF along with what appears to be some fun experimentation with casks. Dealing with the climate in Tel Aviv probably isn’t the easiest thing either. I’ve heard more positive things about other recent releases from this distillery so I’ll keep an eye out when their stock gets a bit more age on it.⁣

    Score: 69/100⁣
    • Nose
Butyric acid note immediately that does not dissipate with air. It’s followed by some aromas of honey, beeswax, apples, pears, and raisins. There is a floral component to the nose as well but everything feels disjointed.⁣
    • Taste
Honey, oak, some spices of nutmeg and clove, young alcohol taste, barely perceptible note of oranges in background.⁣
    • Finish
Mild oak with some lingering spice and a youthful alcohol note.⁣

  8. Georges scored this whisky 77 points Connoisseur

Combination of 80% ex-bourbon casks and 18% STR casks (red wine casks that are shaved, toasted, re-charred), as well as a tiny portion of virgin oak casks.
    • Nose
      77 77
Fresh, fruity (peaches, apples), honey, vanilla, spicy (nutmeg), red wine
    • Taste
      78 78
Fruity (oranges, apples), honey, spicy (nutmeg, clove, pepper), grainy
    • Finish
      77 77
      Medium long, grassy, spicy

    • Nose
      78 78
Light fruit basket; Vanilla; Honey; light herbs, alcoholic note; slight acidic note in the background
    • Taste
      83 83
Fruity; light oak; clearly milder and more pleasant than the smell suggests; the wine is very subtle in the background, gets a little stronger over time; a light nut is added; after the first sip, marzipan is now also on the palate, have a hint of citrus
    • Finish
      84 84
Immediately marzipan, wow, I wouldn't have expected it, nut, but marzipan clearly in the front, nut always comes through and lasts
