Whisky Reviews for Laphroaig 1969 GM

  1. DrunkDude scored this whisky 94 points Expert Senior

scbp-6572, a fine and well-knit dry mouthfeel, the sweetness is supported by the roasted nuts and oils. For example, its aroma is a young wheated bourbon with a little old peat, and the youthful sense of fruity strengthening has disappeared (the old have never drunk a similar style).
    • Nose
Very fine old-fashioned peat with a vaguely barrel-strength 70s Bonfanti feel. Very light peat brings some warmth out of the stove, no smoke, honey pomelo, basil leaves, mint leaves, simmered limes, old newspapers, dark roasted coffee beans. It is worth mentioning that the grains are more oily, maybe butter? All in all a wheat mashbill/or sps Irish feel. There is also some pine resin. The funk-level feel is a little bit, but slightly, a little bit of cheese. 94
    • Taste
The sweet citrus fruit basket, since it is citrus, has a very high acidity. Grapefruit flesh, sweet orange, sour beer, with strong roasted nuts in the middle, or malt whisky-style peat fat, and then transitioning to ginger candy, mint syrup, and a little passion fruit. The smell of the sherry barrel is a little, but almost imperceptible, so I won't describe it. It has a relatively dry taste, the roasting feeling is light peat, the oily feeling jumps in the middle and rear, and there is a weak mint feeling. p93b96
    • Finish
The aftertaste of citrus peel (tangerine) is certain. Slightly astringent, but unfortunately a single malt with such a high configuration cannot erase the chalkyness. Orange flesh, grapefruit peel, licorice, ashes, slightly dry mouth, sticky, stretchy, slightly sweet, very long aftertaste. 94
