the nose and the finish were really great
In the mouth were the elements for a great whisky available
but the interaction and interplay is not really good

    mmh, I like them indeed
    • Nose
wow ... blooming linden, almonds and their peel, applesauce, meadow, summer
      and ripe plums! (from Oloroso)
soft applesauce and plum skin again and again
incredibly heavy and full nose ..
Let's see how it is felt in the mouth
    • Taste
a lot of Oloroso ... that is very dominant
then wood, opium, dark chocolate, fish sauce
maybe he needs water to work more harmoniously ...
    • Finish
Medium to long ... exotic ... delicate bitter ... almond sweetness, fine smoke, light barrel and sweet tobacco ... very nice

  3. Calmar scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

A great distillery-style release, soft, delicate, something similar to Japanese whisky, a combination of discreet minimalism with depth and complexity, attention to detail.
    • Nose
Open, dry, old furniture, varnish, cigar box, ripe leaves, herbarium, sulfur notes, light mineral-metallic shades, window putty, sweet creamy tones, fudge, boiled condensed milk, cappuccino, milk chocolate.
    • Taste
Soft, rich, sweet syrupy notes, burnt caramel, sulfur-metal shades, burnt match heads, spicy oak, cappuccino, dark chocolate, tobacco, leather goods.
    • Finish
Spicy, warming, oak, burnt branches, cappuccino, boiled condensed milk, leather goods, chocolate.

    Balance (21)
It has no elegance and chic ... it's rough, dirty with gray ... but it's good. The rubber ball is beautiful (85.5)
    • Nose
Sulfur and mushrooms, seasoned cheese ... rubber ball ... some kind of vegetable in a spicy marinade. lollipops (21,5)
    • Taste
Wine, spicy, salt and sulfur, rubber ball (21)
    • Finish
Spicy finish, sulfur and dried fruit, liquorice and liqueur sweets ... sweet skin, dark plums, chocolate with a tablet (22)

+ H2O: the intense nose remains, the sweetness is buffered a bit + H2O: the sweet is captured and the dram rounder. Needs water and time

    • Nose
very sweet sherry, low alcohol, rumanklänge?
    • Taste
very sweet, undifferentiated sherry fruits, few details
    • Finish
      long, so

Very nice and clean oloroso nose. Once in the mouth it fades away and there is basically nothing left on the tongue in the finish, besides some warmth.

Round and sweet but a little closed at first. The sherry is revealed gradually and is deep. In the mouth, tight sherry evoking coffee, then chocolate cake. An unusual presence, which is quite impressive in the final. One of the most beautiful demonstration of a sherry cask. With a little water, dried fruits and coffee enrich the nose, while the finish is more spicy.

    Enthusiasm 5/5

Tasting during XI. tasting BR and now again after a long time. My score from degu BR was 89 points, but I'm going to 91. My eighth-tasting whisky from this distillery and the best one. Very good and interesting whisky, rich, full, strong, blind, guessing anything from BenRiach's single barrel, which is one of my favorite outfitters. You can see the results directly from the BR tasting here: http://whisky.nethar.cz/forum/viewtopic ... 8 & start = 10
    • Nose
Skin, propolis, a lot of spices, the most is cinnamon, heavy sweet fruit, wind, warmth. There's also something that evokes the rotten wood, and this line goes to peat. (91 b)
    • Taste
Sherry's influence, a spice of spices, on degu BR came to me rather sweet, but now more delicious than a mixture of salt and sweet with a dry reverberation. A few iodine, peat, a very tanned barrel. Burned, charred wood, it's probably burning the whole village ... which is a little apocalyptic, but it's there. After the tactics of the burned country, it is down in the valley, and we, Króče, Nethar, and the downhill on the hill, take a look and drink Isle of Jura. (91 b)

To date, my by far the best law. Why do not the boys make such whisky more often?
Nice nose, varied whisky and decent alcohol. If the "normal" law comes mostly watered down and shallow, you will be offered something here. Delicious!
    • Nose
Sweet sherry, dry notes, some sulfur. If you get sweeter as time goes by, then it's very close to a syrup. Caramel, sweetened raisins.
    • Taste
Strong, slightly dry. Tobacco, sulfur and dry oak. The whole thing in front of a subtle sweet in the background. Dark chocolate and leather.
    • Finish
The sweetness disappears very quickly, leaving behind drier wood notes and some smoke / tobacco. Overall pleasant finish with decent length.
