To be honest, I hoped for more from Ballechin 2007/2019 from whisky.de, since the cigar malt had a similarly long maturation in a red wine barrel and harmonized wonderfully with the distillery character. But you can see how much a good barrel can make in which a malt matures. This Ballechin lacks the fruity sweetness that complements the smokiness of the snap. Both come across too weakly with this malt .... But the alkhol hits the skin well, in the nose just as blatantly as in the mouth. It takes a lot of water. In the cigar malt, the alcohol was better integrated and could also be enjoyed without water. The finish is short to medium in length. The smoke, which is no longer present in the mouth, can hardly be noticed in the finish. Too bad thought it was better.
