75/100, seriously (you're the only one with a so bad note)? Without any explanation/tasting notes?

Another faultless whisky by CB. So smooth and balanced. If I was a whisky drinker at the beginning of the journey, this would be a great example of how a whisky should be. The trick is to add Clynelish to a blend, and bam, a damn good whisky.

You cannot escape the banquet. However, that it begins with dessert is unusual for a banquet. Maybe that's what defines the rogues. Full review (german): https://keinehalbendrinks.de/2020/12/31/compass-box-20th-anniversary/

While I am not 100% sold on the flavor profile, I can respect this is a very well done blend. The sherry is a musty one which doesn’t always work for me, but the rich and great mouthfeel along with superbly balanced flavors makes it hard not to enjoy.

Strong malt presence, one I am unfamiliar with, it has a unique light funk here (other reviews mention ripe papaya and yes that could be it) sherry could be a factor as it is a darker shade dram, nice spice and red stewed fruits, dark caramel drizzled spice cake

A velvety version of the nose, smooth, sweet, creamy, sherried and light light spices. Easy drinking and yet somewhat complex. The Clynelish does make the mouthfeel thick and yes waxy. There isn’t any sign of youth or rough edges found here.

Oak appears to let us know it’s not a youthful mix, which confirms the roundness and excellent blending done here. These individuals make the whole better.

Nose - Raisins and sultanas. Some apples and pears. Little wax paper. Candy cigarettes. Brown sugar syrup. Baking spices - ginger, nutmeg. Empty glass smells like a tarte tatin.

Palate - Crème brûlée. Burnt toffee. Waxy apples. Cinnamon dusting on over-baked pastry.

Finish - Oily and waxy coating the roof of mouth. Medium-long with fading toffee apples. Little nutty and slightly drying.
