So where was the old Laddie cleaning rag? Apparently just had a break. Not a typical representative of his distillery, that's probably why I like it so much. But seriously: very tasty 15yo, very relaxed pleasure.

Freshly poured, it is pretty buttoned at first, doesn't really let you get close to it. Aroma that can hardly be taken apart. A little water helps, now comes vanilla and sweet honey, mild herbs, a sweet note of ripe apricots and peaches. Yes, now he is coming. Pleasant mix of thyme, rosemary and bay leaves, but still very subtle and not pushy at all.

Soft and oily, with cherry jam, blackberries, juicy strawberries. Wood shavings, the spices from the nose, now as a topping of the fruits that are not yet there. Cold espresso, fresh bread dough, yeast, whole milk chocolate. Even if it is not stingy with flavors on the tongue from the start, unlike the nose, it is also rather casual on the palate and not triumphant. He unfolds his potential very relaxed. I like it. 89

Long and slightly dry, with increasing fruit sweetness, flavored pipe tobacco, fading spices. 88

Absolutely beautiful. Reminds me of 60/70s Laddie and at the same time, above all, a very successful bourbon maturation. I wonder if it would have lasted a few more years in the barrel. We'll never know...

Beautiful nose that takes us to the seaside with the iodine, mineral and saline scents but also in the background a vegetal note reminiscent of heather at Highland Park.
I also feel a bit of peat.

It is the peat that appears to me in the foreground this time. Rather light but I did not expect it. Then we find the iodine / vegetable combo but the vegetable notes are much more present than on the nose. This brings freshness, counterbalancing the "heaviness" of the peat.
Alcohol is present but without attacking, it's tough!

More on the mineral / peaty side.

Wonderful bourbon barrel matured malt. Hearty and malty notes on the nose, which appear in the mouth. With water, it actually gets rougher, crisper and the herbal notes are more strongly represented. Without water, it is actually too smooth for me. Funny actually, that it is so rum.

I like that very, very much. Nice finish, which may also be longer. Fortunately, the sample is a bit bigger. So after the first test I would give 89 points. Great part.
