It says "heavily peated" but not that heavy.
    So smooth and easily drinkable.
Peat note and nutty sweet note are combined so well.

    Peat lover could be disappointed.
But for me, it is quite well balanced peat whisky.

I thought it would be a peat monster, but it is quite refined. Would buy a dram in a pub, not sure I'd want to sup a whole bottle.

Smoked ribs on a BBQ, slightly acrid, inviting nonetheless.
    • Taste

The peat seems to disappear on tasting it, only to pop up at the end with a slightly metallic note
    • Finish
      82 82
The peat notes keeps developing, quite pleasant.

  7. Official tasting note

Nose: Understated peat smoke and barbeque balanced by ripe pineapples, pears and a dark, rich tone of baked toffee apples. Subtle vanilla and sparks of fresh lemon rind lend lightness and elegance to the composition.

Palate: Structured and full, with rich smoke in balance with juicy gummy bears and the light, fizzy sweetness of spun sugar. Undertones of a hay barn and fudge give it a delicious weight.

Finish: Long and growing, distinctly spicy and sweet with a warming, smoky finale.

Ancnoc Peatheart 46%. New Years Eve 2019-2020 dram with my wife. Quite pale yellow. Aroma muted biscuity smoke. Taste burnt notes soft vanilla and biscuit. Rock salt. Enjoyable.
