    • Nose
      84 84
Very high impact of an oak barrel, smoke, like smoking fish, lemons, vanilla, raisins, a bit of honey, bandages - although less than expected, after a few minutes of pouring, the alcohol disappeared almost completely
    • Taste
      83 83
Surprisingly many sweets, honey, citrus, ash, tar, whisky covers the entire mouth, oak wood, much tastier than the basic 10yo
    • Finish
      84 84
      Long, smoky, citrusy, very intense

The best core range Laphroaig for under $100. I don't include the 10CS as this changes every year.
There are enough reviews on this to know the type of profile, but take my word, excellent stuff!!

Not as sweet as the Triple Wood, but still sweet.
Melon notes in the background, popping up when adding some water.
Different than the Triple Wood, but quality-wise on par.
One minus point because of the added colourant.

A nice smoke in the nose, behind it light sweetness and vanilla. On the palate, first a fine citrus note, a little salt and a distinct sweetness. In the finish then the spice of the oak, the smoke also reports back, carried by a very nice sweetness.

I really like it. A fine standard and luckily not as completely aloof as some other whisky.

Good whisky, but cannot overcome the memory of the 10yo which in my imagination has always been the icon of peat
    • Nose
Smokiness less than 10yo, a citric and marine note, light creaminess like vanilla pudding
    • Taste
Much more peaty than on the nose, it tastes of embers, meat cooked on the fireplace and a little singed, still a slight note of cedar, spicy spices, a slight hint of licorice
    • Finish
Very peaty and slightly bitter (gentian)

very tasty and tasty, the 48% alcohol is well integrated and hardly noticeable. Very complex. Empty glass smells of smoked ham, very pleasant. Smoke is well integrated and not intrusive. Better than the 10 year old Laphroaig.
    • Nose
      86 86
Smoke, sweet and maritime notes, slightly fruity, spicy and a little liquorice, slight medicinal notes
    • Taste
      87 87
Smoke, very spicy with oak and still sweet, pepper and maritime notes, here too some medical notes like cough syrup
    • Finish
      86 86
Long with smoke, spicy oak still sweet, a little pepper and still nutty, here too slightly maritime notes

Room temperature when drinking: 18 ℃

    Viewing Eyes: golden yellow

Smell Nose: sulfur, saltpeter, matches, waves, fish, seaweed, moss, lemon curd, lemongrass, vanilla, raisin toast, honey, smell a little astringent, a little candied preserved fruit, chemical potions, There is a faint smell of animals

Taste Palate: the sweet and sour lemonade, strong disinfection water, sea fish, burnt charcoal, very salty seawater, ash and black smoke, slowly transformed into dog hair in my mouth.

Finish: Finish, long, sterilized water, lemon peel, ashes, bitterness of burnt food, spicy spices

Body: Medium, smooth, bitter bottom, a little astringent at the end

    Nose: 85/100

    Palate: 85/100

    Finish: 84/100

    Body: 86/100

    Overall: 85.5 / 100

Overall: The overall style is sea salt + lemon + disinfectant. It is soft when swallowing, but it is a bit heavy for me.

La Forge's smoky flavor is really long waiting, even after drinking water.

    • Nose
      82 82
Peat and phenols ... lots of smoke
    • Taste
      86 86
Insanely intense! A lot of smoke and almost medical.
    • Finish
      82 82
Could be a little longer, but this is complaining at a high level
