This is a stated age of 12 years. USA version.
    • Nose

Freshly baked bread, toasted coconuts, agave nectar and grappa. You can tell it's fairly young, but the nose is not harsh.
    • Taste

Good mouthfeel, viscous. Young, unripened citrus and white pear. Pomelo perhaps. A bit undeveloped and simple, and perhaps needing a few extra years? Typical Lowland malt profile. I wonder if this means that in another 12 years time, Daftmill can be magical like the mid-20's Littlemills? Young Littlemills are not this good though....

Kinda short. Simple. Not much development.

It’s pretty light, but also quite tasty. I’m a fan of these sorts of dry, floral, barley-forward whiskies. Despite its low proof and generally easy-going nature, it has a nice rich mouthfeel and a reasonably long finish. Very pleasant to sip. Still not worth secondary prices.

Nose: Light and fragrant. Sweet green barley, fresh flowers, white tea, and butter. Pineapple, coconut, banana, kiwis, and nutmeg. Key lime pie, pancake syrup, white chocolate, marshmallows, and crystallized honey.

Palate: Full texture, with very little heat. Green barley, Rice Krispies squares, banana, and rosewater up front. Light oak and bitter-ish toasted walnuts development, with a hint of tobacco. A bit of a browned-butter thing in the middle as it gets richer. Brown sugar and green tea. Limestone dust, coconut water, and tart green grapes.

Finish: Medium-long. Unsalted butter, Greek yogurt, blini, clover honey, plantain chips, walnuts, and very light cinnamon. Lightly metallic.

    • Nose
The trademark Daftmill creaminess is here. Custardy, milky fresh fruits, cereals. Everything is very light and soft here. A little sweeter and even maltier than the 2006 winter UK batch for instance. Indeed it is a very summery dram. Milk chocolate covered biscuits as well.
    • Taste
Very soft, again, great balance between the creamy and bitter elements here as well, but the length is a little shorter the other bottles. I like that the balance is great here and I like it tremendously because of the composition, but the intensity lacks a little bit. Feels more like a 40%-er but in a good sense.
    • Finish
Falls pretty short on this side, but only compared to other batches

Distinguishable and appreciated nose, but lemon, yeast, and offsetting notes. Violet Choward's perfume is distinct. Must develop a fun cocktail for this one.

chardonnay, honey, lemon, pear to apricot, slight Tabasco, ethanol, yeasty, hay-grassy, chicken pot pie, slight brown sugar, dog...
    • Taste
      84 84
violet candy perfume like Choward's Violet, honey, slight anise, new rubber flip flops,
    • Finish
      87 87
black pepper, lemony/stone fruit tart, honey, perfume lingers, bourbon oak. Noticed some development and linger.
