Very cool part! It tastes incredibly good.
    • Nose
      94 94
Citrus cookies, lots of fresh vanilla, typical yeast notes, as if the head were hanging in the washback, slightly mineral, heavenly soft and wonderfully harmonious
    • Taste
      89 89
Lemon cake again, with mineral liveliness, slight dryness, you can feel the yeast notes again, creamy and pleasant
    • Finish
      90 90
Soft, slightly bitter and creamy with mineral vanilla and citrus tones, a yeasty oak remains on the palate, due to the drinking strength not very long

I liked the last release (https://www.whiskybase.com/whiskies/whisky/125201/daftmill-2006) much better, why this has become even more expensive with less age - I don't get it - I need a bottle no way - reminds me a little of GlenGrant from the SV vase in CS with about 21yo - until recently it was still available for 90 € - a little bit he also has something of a middle-aged Irishman ~ 17yo- for 11years that's great without question - but in the end I am interested in the taste and not the dates and the price with around 185 € expenditure is not without
    • Nose
      87 87
warm butter with melted vanilla sugar, freshly sawn green wood, birch water, some coconut, cream, very light glue (a lot of glue from the 1920s Blenders glass) impressively creamy and subtle - enticingly sweet, again and again delicious floral notes that remind me of blooming lilac
    • Taste
      85 85
fresh crisp aromatic green wood - greens / herbaceous, classic exBC profile with vanilla and coconut - very clean, some citrus - slightly mineral notes - after stone flour, oatmeal cookies - less sweet than in the nose - also here when chewing some sweet grass and summer flowers
    • Finish
      85 85
slightly dry, fresh, some mint, thyme, rosemary - a bit peppery - could be alcohol - but still butter

For a long time I was reluctant to try this whisky, because the prices cannot be justified objectively.

Although; as a producer, since we are talking about really handmade shice - but as an end user, who is not interested in collecting, not idyll, but enjoyment, well ..

The end result is a fresh, malty, smoother whisky reminiscent of Littlemill. Can of course be enjoyed without water and is clearly recognizable as a Lowlander. So now I am ready to launch; So he reminds me (and remember, tastes are relative and tastings too) of the 17 hole Lomond, or even the 10 Ben Nevis batch P / 000011. I know Ben Nevis all just not a Lowlander, but what can I say, I write what my head says ...

A good whisky that is very ambitious in terms of price. If people like whiskys from Auernland and want to have a nice story in addition to taste - why not? In terms of taste alone, a 12 in drinking strength is not worth this price. I have to say, however, that I am not a hardcore Lowlands fan ...

    • Nose

initially slightly sweet, a hint of artificial (fruit drops), appears relatively young.
A while later: sweet and fruity, fresh sour oak, even now a hint of fruit drops, fresh fruit: apples, maybe pears ...

The longer in the glass the clearer the fruity notes appear, slightly sweet, citrus freshness, hint of vanilla. The slightly artificial fruit drops note is almost gone ...
    • Taste
      85 85
easy approach, sweet and fruity, fresh fruit, citrus. Delicately tart with some oak / wood notes. Here, too, it appears light and fresh.

In my view, adding water is not necessary, it has a slightly spicy taste and is slightly astringent on the palate. It looks a bit tart.
    • Finish
      84 84
slightly sweet, soft, light malty notes.

It's not bad, but can't quite understand the high price for a bottle and the high score ...

In short: good, but too expensive.
    • Nose
      87 87
Floral, also a slight hint of glue on the nose, herbal honey, hay.
    • Taste
      88 88
Harmonious taste, with lots of ripe pineapple, lemon and lots of honey. At the same time gentle and spicy.
    • Finish
      86 86
The finish is gentle and very ripe for its age.

Very fruity in taste. All in all a really good drop. The PLV just doesn't fit at all.

Great nose, but very flat on palate and allmost no finish.

While tasty, not sure the hype surrounding. Good, but far from great
    • Nose
      88 88
Classic, honey, vanilla, malt, citrus, light grassiness
    • Taste
      87 87
Good mouthfeel for 46%, creamy and spicy, vanilla and pepper, oak
    • Finish
      86 86
Peppery and medium short, despite the mouthfeel it is a quicker finish
