Very complex and aromatic for 5 years. Very good price-performance ratio. Without knowing the age, I would have estimated the whisky a few years older

Pure: after pouring: liquid marzipan. Then: Christmas spices, vanilla, sweetness, Mon-Cherie cherry, dried fruit, gingerbread, some glue.

With water: dried fruits and spices more in the foreground.
    • Taste
      88 88
Pure: the alcohol provides a certain sharpness, but would not reach 60.5%. Creamy, walnut, sweetness, gingerbread dates and figs.

With water: the sharpness is gone, fruits go forward more. I like it better with water.
    • Finish
      89 89
Pure: sticky sweetness next to the dried fruit, medium length.

With water: Significantly longer finish, the fruits stay much longer, sweetness recedes.

      Very intensive!
Caramel - Smells so sweet that it reminds you of something extremely sticky. I thought directly about marshmallows
Cold from the alcohol. Reminiscent of mint (After Eight).
Cocoa, light chocolate, raisins, trail mix.
      Orange, cloves, pickled red fruits.
    • Taste

Sweet! Alcohol is easy to get through, although over 60% are in it.
Licorice, walnut, cocoa, chocolate, distant coffee and pickled red fruits.
    • Finish
      88 88
Very long finish! And again and again the sweetness changes with the spicy sharpness with cocoa and chocolate. Some dryness in between. At the end a slightly bitter oak and again cocoa with a hint of coffee.

      Diluted the whisky to 49%.

Still have a strong alcohol note. Dried fruits, raisins; very sweet, a citrus note in the form of a sweet, fermented orange; slight acidity of wine; Somehow I still have a fresh herbal note, but could also be the cool flair of the alcohol. Then I have a strong spice note in the form of some clove, nutmeg and some white pepper

strong start, beautiful spicy oak, sweet dried fruit, light wine character, dark chocolate, almost a little touch of roasted coffee, now there is a nice nutty note, slight sharpness (pepper)
    • Finish
      86 86
Nut, dried fruit, nice spice, again nut, slightly delicate, tart oak.
Long-lasting overall, very dark chocolate and again a shade of coffee or heavily roasted coffee beans

Great cracker that Pat organized there. Haven’t drunk a whisky that hits you so deeply with your taste. For me pure plum jam in my mouth. Class. And a little easier with a few drops of water.
