A twisty little thing that surprised me. It broke its promise, but I'm okay with it.

It needs some time in the glass. Caramel, vanilla, banana, something flowery, mild honey.
    • Taste
      90 90
Drastic change from the nose, in my opinion. More spice and less typical bourbon notes. Nutmeg and bark. Silky smooth mouthfeel.
    • Finish
      90 90
Long and pleasant. More of the honey/vanilla lingers, while the spice fades.

    APPEARANCE: Golden colour.
NOSE: Sweet old wood, cedar box, furniture polish, dried pineapple, dried banana, a little vanilla, mango. With air and time dried red fruits start appearing. There is also some rubber and a slight solventy note here (i.e. a sulphury note to many, I think). Takes time to unfold. A few drops of water doesn't change much. (88-89p)
TASTE: The arrival is dominated by dried fruits and cedar wood. On the mid palate there is sweeter (but mild) old wood, dried fruits, vinous notes and a little vinous acidity. I would guess around 43% ABV. A few drops of water doesn't change much. (88p)
EXIT: Wood spice / tannins, some fruit. Drying finish. (86p)
OVERALL: Opens up very promisingly, quite rich in fruit and vinous tastes but finishes just a bit too woody for my taste. Mainly bourbon cask matured but there may have been a ligth wine finish here. TOTAL SCORE 87 (88) points.

Great start with a very good nose. This dram, however, is a bit unbalanced. Starting from sweetness and honey. Bitter notes and a hint of bitter spices take over during the taste. Ending with a weird paper / cardboard. But all in all a good dram, 88-89p. Slainte

A ton of honey. Some earthly vs old cellar thing going on here. Anise. Eucalyptus. A green touch with herbs and hints of grass. Eventually slightly chemical. Pears

Quite juicy at first. Honey of course. Loads of grapefruit. Vanilla. Butterscotch. Spices, white pepper. Hint of mint and bitterness as well.
    • Finish

Medium long. Slightly mouthwatering and some honey. I get a weird feeling of Cardboard actually. A bit unbalanced. In the very and there is bitter jam pushing through.
