  1. ffmdino did not rate this whisky Expert Senior

    he's quite OK
    very saliva stimulating
    he needs water
in comparison with the 11y Cask 6677 + 6679 this is more intense; I didn't like it that much in comparison
    • Nose
Fruit basket with light fruits (peach, apricots, pears, bananas), dark sugar, slightly flowery, light caramel, vanilla, light malt, gets earthy and a little plastic comes in
with water: a bit of pepper, a bit of rubber, more vanilla and a note that I can't name
    • Taste
Oak, very earthy, light ash / smoke, nutty, exotic fruit (kiwi?), Spicy, dark caramel, the alcohol tingles
with water: softer, more oak, more spicy
    • Finish
      medium to long
slightly oak, slightly rotten eggs, slightly light-colored fruit, pencil
with water: overall paler, slightly bitter, slightly tart and spicy note

Emptied my 5cl Sample yesterday (not all of it, the rest).

From the final Local Dealer Series (#3) this is my place 2. Surprisingly #1 was the Linkwood (cheapest).
All the others performed quite mediocore... wich is sad because I really fondly remember the first Local Dealer release (all of them) and was blasted by two from #2.

    But back to this drop.
Its fine. Haven't tried alot Mannochmore yet and this did nothing to kill the curiosity (but did nothing to start panic buying every available Mannochmore out there to try it)
    Well done.

Flat on the nose, boring ... citrus fruits sprinkled with vanilla sugar, floral notes, a little bit of wood and a stronger spiciness. Oh man, it doesn't really start well.

In the mouth the alcohol comes very strong, so I added water to get down to about 50-52%. Little fruit, little sweetness, but a lot of spiciness with pepper and oak. It quickly becomes drier in the mouth, the spiciness dominates. You can feel some anise.

Then there is still pepper and oak in the finish. Only a little fruit and sweetness remain in the mouth, all in all not very complex and very one-dimensional.

All in all I can only say for myself that this whisky is just boring and one-dimensional for me. For the low price you can of course not expect 1st division whisky. But for me this is more like a whisky in the lower part of the 2nd division.

Lots of bright fruits. Honeydew melon, apricot, honey.
The alcohol is nicely integrated and there is no trace of 57.8%. Delicious
