this whisky is extraordinary. very strong nose of sherry, dark fruits, but also tobacco and hints of old leather. The alcohol is then briefly on the tongue, or is it a very pleasant chilli heat? The finish is just very long. The flavors just don't want to leave your mouth.

    • Nose
just as dark as the color, earth, leather, blackberries, strawberries, wild berry jam, dark dried fruits, some chocolate, a very slight herbal note, a few nuts, wood
    • Taste
the smell is continued, dark dried fruits, wild berry jam, blackberries, red currants with a slight acidity, nuts, some leather, again a light herbal note, spices, wood

    Notes of a blind tasting:

it has a nice balanced profile. I like it.

As the color suggests, I have strong sherry aromas at the beginning, which also have a certain spice. Doesn't seem fake. Lots of dark fruits, some chocolate and honey. The spicy ones seem to be notes of oak. Very pleasant. The alcohol seems well integrated.

just like the nose, there are already nice notes of sherry. the aromas from the nose are also present here, only stronger. Here, too, the alcohol is very well integrated. there is no burning or stinging. Soft and round.
    • Finish

here again the sherry aromas as well as the other notes from mouth and nose, also strong, but rather short.

These fat, young Edradours are really great chocolate-nut drinking fun and, above all, even though they all come as individual barrels, they are available from Signatory / The Ultimate in an endless amount. Prices are ok too - especially the 46s are (dark) sherry bargains. The sherry coating helps here, of course, but I am not yet soooo convinced of some other Edradour that has matured longer. However, a clear increase in quality has been felt or tasted in recent years. Keep it up!

    Appearance: Red coloured, very oily
Nose: Very sweet, sherry of course, oak, nuts, popcorn
Mouth: Very elegant especially after a few minutes in the glass, very oily and smooth
Taste: Dark Chocolate, oak, fruits, less sweetness then in the nose, nuts, and sherry
Palate: Extrem long, fruity more berries, oak, hints of chocolate remain

All components are harmonizing perfectly in this rich sherry whisky, with almost to much sweetness. Excellent complex dram but unfortunatly very limited.

This is a lot of fun and delicious. Die Whiskybotschaft chose a great barrel. This cask strength variant was more expensive than the diluted relatives, but it also has much more to offer. The best Edradour I've drunk so far! Full review (in German): https://keinehalbendrinks.de/2019/12/23/alles-die-gleiche-suppe/
