A great club bottling (albeit a little expensive ...).
    • Nose
Bacon-spicy smoke, immediately intense aroma of dried herbs. Nutmeg, pepper, clove powder. Damp autumn leaves, somewhat loamy. Warm caramel. Slowly a few sherry notes are starting to appear: pickled raisins, flavored pipe tobacco. Initially a little aggressive in the nose, it becomes milder and softer as time goes on. The (peat) smoke remains spicy, intense and thick as a constant.
    • Taste
Strong start with cool and intense smoke like in the nose. Here the sherry barrel participation comes to the fore. Dark chocolate, freshly ground coffee beans, raisins, dried figs. Slightly dry with spicy old wood chips. A fine mix of herbs that lays on the tongue (not as intense as in the nose). The smoke remains on the tongue a constant - very welcome - companion.
    • Finish
Medium to long and only slightly dry finish. Peaty, greasy. Machine oil, Wadden Sea at low tide. Mild herbal notes. Coffee beans, nougat chocolate, red grapes.

I'm missing something at all levels of a 90+ rating, no question about a nice smoker, typically Kilchoman, but I miss the very last kick
    • Nose
It starts with citrus-heavy, grated lemon peel, cinnamon, vanilla, the smoke is present, but not too dominant, cookie dough, slightly nutty, individual pieces of whole milk chocolate, some tobacco is warmed up, it becomes a bit musty, a little cherry or rather plum, is more likely to go in the spicy than in the sweet direction
    • Taste
Oily, here quite sweet and creamy, vanilla clear, chalky, clear smoke, very straightforward, but somehow a bit cautious at the start, but you could also call it delicate, lemon and cinnamon, is getting sweeter, ashy, and now comes the sherry, nutty, a bit of dark chocolate
    • Finish
Here the sherry strikes more, nut chocolate, plums, ashy smoke on the palate, grape nut, a little mint on the palate, lemon on the tip of the tongue, basically a fresh mouthfeel at the back, but also slightly furry

Great! Fresh fruits, dry oak, some sherry, not too much, a bit of everyting. Now please do club edition 6 to 8 again with your 100% Islay profile!
