Vanilla and a few bananas, some oatmeal, oatcakes and block malt. The sweetness is reserved. Add some orange peel. Wood is noticeable, but does not become bitter in the nosing. The aroma is strong and tends towards the tart-spicy direction, but is underlaid with fruit.
Strong and ripe in taste, the vanilla is straight from the pod and no flavored sugar, plus orange juice with a sip of kiba (cherry/banana), maybe mango, the sweetness is offset by mild wood. The whisky is well matured and has aromas associated with it's age. At the end, a southern herbal mixture is also added.
A pleasant aftertaste, the whisky remains tart and strong in the mouth without developing too strong woody aromas. There are also no musty notes of old casks, making the desire for another sip stronger.
A characterful whisky that lives up to its age, is not too bulky and is easy to drink. The price is still acceptable.
