IMO the 95 and 93 point reviews are overly generous. This is a typical good old grain that would usually net an 88-90 point average on this site.
Plenty of vanilla and oak, and sugar. A bit of dryness from the tannins, but there aren't that many tertiary cask notes here apart from the plain oak. Quite grainy. With water it stays sugary and vanilla-ed. The nose is nice, but it is a bit tiring since it doesn't change much with time or water.
Lots of quality vanilla, a bit of perfume, neapolitan wafers, soft old oak, a whisper of ethanol, and cartloads of various shortbread cookies. There is a bit of fruitiness behind all the vanilla and sugar, but I'm left hoping for something more, like some clear bourbon notes or a stronger oak bite, or something.
Long, sugary, and full of vanilla. Slightly too sweet for me.
