Typical sherry nose, dried fruits, furniture polish, vanilla, honey, sweet dates, leather, elderberry flowers, toffee, herbs.
Nice opening, quite a lot of oak, quite dry, but some light cane sugar sweetness. Raisins, prunes, also something perfumed, and fresh mint. Good balance and structure. Only missing a bit of fun stuff around the edges. Second chew brings a lot more toffee, also dried herbs, light tobacco leaves, more dryness, and mint is still very present. I like it, but some people might look for a bit more sweetness. Light smoke also. Third chew brings barley, a bit more toffee, oak, and wood spices. Nutmeg and cinnamon, black pepper, and very light watery apple juice.
Nice and warm, black pepper, lots of oak, not too sweet, smoke and tobacco leaves, very pleasant mix. After longer time a taste of smoked banana peel lingers.
