Long live the Paxarette! - a great old-style sherry for the wing chair
    • Nose
      92 92
A harmony of sherry, raisins, red grapes and floor wax
    • Taste
      91 91
great embedded sherry, ripe blackberries, wild blueberries, then a clear oak wall
    • Finish
      91 91
the dark, heavy berries and the wood characterize the long stay in the cheek pouches and in the throat

Nice, slightly sulphurous, dirty sherry bomb. I wouldn't have tasted a Glenglassaugh for lack of experience. Most likely it reminds me of older piglets. Very good, without the sulfur it would be a 90s candidate.

In addition to the sherry notes and light sulfur notes, a lot of grapefruit.

    Please check the numbers .....

This one should be a shared cask with Base ID 137734

  5. Fundramental scored this whisky 91 points Connoisseur

A first class whisky for anyone who loves a deep sherry aroma. Perhaps the most intense I have ever tasted (and smelled). Used to add a drop of water but now the bottle is down to the last third I prefer it neat.

This Whisky was sold for 252 € at Whiskyauction in Sept. 2015and for 250 € in June 2015

Alcohol and also cask numbers are different to each other.

Quote by David Stirk "Distilled 5th March 1986 cask no 159 First Fill ex-Oloroso Sherry Butt. It was bottled for 2 customers, most of it went to Jack Wiebers Whisky World for his Old Train Line series (354 bottles) and the rest went to Falster for their Wild Whisky Weekend (168 bottles)." The Remainings of the Day were bottled in a Crystal Decanter.
