Great whiskey. There's no denying the age, but much more than Euchensaft. Great spicy and also unusual elements. Strong.
    • Nose
Sweet, surprisingly fruity, but also a great resinous component. Which is almost reminiscent of Hzrauch. Added vanilla, but overall very well defined, not sticky. Great nose.
    • Taste
This resinous note comes back immediately in the mouth, but also some fruit, vanilla and, above all, nice tart notes from the 16 years in the barrel.
    • Finish
The finish first shows the bite into the vanilla pod, then into the oak wall unit. That sounds bad, but the wood, so tart and ubiquitous as it is on the finish, is framed by vanilla, mint and a subtle sweetness so that it doesn't become too much.

  4. Dris scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

I reckon this one spent a couple years in Scotland, because I get this abstract sense of tempered climate-maturation. The juice is very very sweet (in a tasteful way), and rather refined or 'smooth' - from the charcoal filtering process, I guess.

Definitely made to the scotch drinkers' taste, and I really enjoyed my bottle.

Too much ‘artificial’ sweetness... seems very sensitive to oxidation...
