  1. RJKrueger scored this whisky 88 points Expert Senior

Impressive Glenallachie from the standard range; very complex and worth the money. Very balanced for sherry fans.
    • Nose
Diverse, forest, damp wood, red berries, black cherry, allspice, cedar wood, dark chocolate.
    • Taste
Full, oily, creamy, complex, very sherry-heavy, spicy, nice drinking strength.
    • Finish
Very long, nice sustained finish - that's how I like it.

You can feel dried fruits and candied fruits, as well as red apples.
    • Taste
      85 85
Sweet and fruity on the palate. Quiet whisky.
    • Finish
      83 83
      Sweet aftertaste of medium duration.

  4. KyotoLefty scored this whisky 88 points Expert Junior

    Appearance: Deep golden amber.

    Nose: Butterscotch, vanilla, very buttery.

Palate: Big oak, spicy, peppery, hot but sweet, soft, oaky.

    Finish: Slightly hot, oaky, buttery.

With Water: Needs a bit to mellow.

Overall: Lovely aged dram with bigger wood. Not as interesting and overtly delicious as the 15, though.

    • Nose
      Cinnamon, orange, vanilla, dusty
    • Taste
very strong, cinnamon, orange, aranzini, vanilla, wood

Good Speysider, but not a must buy.
    • Nose
      85 85
Vanilla, perfume, citrus, light fruit, light alcohol note
    • Taste
      85 85
A little spicy at the beginning, a few drops of water make it smoother. Sweet and sour on the start, ginger, fruity and some spice, like cardamom. Becoming drier.
    • Finish
      86 86
      Dry and medium length.
