Whisky Reviews for Clynelish 1993 MMcK

This whisky is a revelation of how wonderful a Clynelish can ripen.
In the nose, it presents itself with the typical Clynelish flavor profile, but much denser, more mature and voluminous than the 14-year-old and absolutely harmonious. Baked fruits in high concentration, honey caramel, fine fragrances woody spice and everything in beautiful interaction. - This barrel has transformed its content into fragrant gold over the 25 years of maturation!
In the mouth almost the same experience: unmistakably a Clynelish with incredible fruity-ripe already almost Met-like sweetness, which changes over full and ripe fruit notes and the distillery-typical waxiness in a fine oak spice. Well interwoven and supported by a nearly perfect alcohol content, these flavors are drawn into a long finish. - Incredibly delicious!

Absolutely great Clynelish - incredibly diverse nose with ripe fruit! In the taste intensive ripe Clynelishtypische notes - oily, fruity, sweet and a slight pinch of spice. This old Clynelish are the blast and no comparison to Sherrycasks!

Beautiful clynelish, where the nose experience is the best.

The nose is really terrific, the palate falls through unfortunately. There are still 79 points. He would even get top marks for permanently wiping out. Too bad, I have rarely seen such a qualitative discrepancy between nose and palate.
    • Nose
Sweet Mirabelle. Vanilla and honey, very intense. The oak is also on board, but not too violent. The mirabelle is so intense, it almost reminds a mirabelle brandy. Very interesting and really tasty.
    • Taste
Unfortunately, the description of Nae is also on the palate again. That's right - unfortunately. Again, I feel reminded of a mirabelle brandy. In the mouth, the whisky looks a bit artificial and actually a little bit sprightly. I would have expected more. Mirabelle perfume - I like to smell it, but do not drink it.
    • Finish
      Medium long, sweetish.
