- According to the information from ex-bourbon and ex-sherry barrels, it seems to me that the bourbon barrels predominate. I taste the typical yellow fruits, some vanilla, hardly any wood. I find the delicate salty note exciting, which I only knew from older scapa bottlings in connection with ex-bourbon barrels.
- Aroma: open, malt-bread, crumb of gray bread, zest, sourness of lemon, spicy brine. After standing a little, wood is added, citrus acidity, slices of a green apple are strengthened. Fresh, simple, nothing repulsive, and there is no feeling of youth.
Taste: ginger-spicy, rich, sweet caramel, lots of zest and hot spices, vanilla roll, a small bitterness.
Finish: ginger-caramel, citrus, a lot of spicy zest, unsweetened herbal tea, medium length, warming.
Bottom line: fresh, ginger-spicy, with branded pickle notes, the initial malt, but very simple and boring. No wonder he was taken out of the new line, there was no sense in it, the base 12, even with a minimum strength a cut above, at the same price
