the nose is very good, but stays behind the palate. At first I thought of a teaspooned Balvenie - the label leaves no doubt - a very fruity Riach
    • Nose
      90 90
noble creamy aged citrus flavors, yoghurt with pineapple, candied mango, lemon drop, gooseberries, yellow kiwi, the fruit aromas are very clean, noble, crystalline - woody flavors - bright and fresh - freshly split stems, birch water, green bark, lime, lime zest, vanilla, Panna cotta
    • Taste
      91 91
Lemon, lime, gooseberry, passion fruit, melon, peach, flambéed pineapple with honey, vanilla full - very nice sweet and sour balance - absolute noble fruit bomb on the palate - flawless, incredibly delicious - the woody aromas are creamy, soft, gentle, tannins dance without it it gets dry, delicious minimal bitterness like orange marmalade
    • Finish
      90 90
The fruits on the palate sound rather sweet - it remains very creamy and oily - the fruit notes flash again and again - oatmeal cookies, toasted notes, grapefruit peel

Despite the rather low cask strength, there is still enough power. However, for my taste, the old age should come into its own a bit more. It also becomes a bit monotonous over time, so I miss a few small, playful facets here and there. For the full review, go here: https://keinehalbendrinks.de/2022/05/14/secrets-of-sansibar/

    Color: Pale Straw

Delicious Irish, a Redbreast 12 CS in old, fruit + dryness = top.
    • Nose
Clear, cool; Malt, straw, unripe pineapple, green banana, a little vanilla. Green apples. Tree sap, lemon peel, warm vanilla crescents. With air: green, artificial apple aroma, gummy bears with extra sugar on top, some oatmeal. Passion fruit juice. With water: more vanilla, followed by mainly oatmeal.
    • Taste
Some dry wood, malt and straw, then distinctly Irish, porridge, lilac blossom, star fruit. A fine note of vanilla, good mint, a little lemon balm and above all a lot of passion fruit juice. Malt coffee, dry sawdust, apple rings, lime peel. With water: more lilac blossom, more oatmeal, more passion fruit, more star fruit. So do him good.
    • Finish
Straw, a little soot, and lots of passion fruit juice. Canned mandarins. Later dry, some passion fruit remains, but mostly dry.

Great Speysider. The nose is a rocket, the rest unfortunately falls off easily.
    • Nose
      91 91
Apple. Pear. Sour apple rings. Very straight forward, dense fruit. Crystal clear. Kiwi. Candied citrus fruit. Mango.
    • Taste
      90 90
Very ripe. Set. Creamy. The Fruittrain pushes slowly. Now also a slight tingling. Unfortunately, the aromas don't open up as they do on the nose. Everything seems rather interwoven. Sweetness, fruit, some acidity.
    • Finish
      89 89
Subtle. Some milk coffee. Grapefruit. Will be bitter.

It is a very tasty bourbon barrel whisky, exactly the way I like it, nice fruity and creamy
    • Nose
Almost a 1 to 1 copy of the Maltman 26yo Secret Speyside that I had in the glass before, exotic fruits, passion fruit, fairly acidic, quite fresh, some ice candy
    • Taste
oily, exotic fruit salad, sweet, mango and passion fruit, sweetened grapefruit, the similarity to the Maltman Speysider is incredible, that is probably a sister barrel, very tasty
    • Finish
slight acidity, becoming fresher, still very fruity, creamy, pleasantly fading with a fresh feeling in the mouth
