This whisky is made for exactly such occasions. Uncomplicated, tasty and enough complexity to not get boring.
A pleasant smokiness flows from the snifter. Malty sweet with a good portion of light fruit. Mirabelle plums, peach and pear. The typical Islay menthol note is discreetly noticeable in the background.
Here too a sweet maltiness with a hint of Williams pear and green apples. Unfortunately, it looks a bit flat, is probably due to the alcohol strength. Yes, the barrel strengths messed me up: P
The finish is rather short.
The barrel is noticeable with a slight tingling on the tongue.
It gets a little dry at the back.
