Always a solid Islay, a lot of work goes into keeping this malt consistent. Really nice peat-centric dram.
    • Nose
Wet stones just after the frist rain, when the rain is all dirty. Piss-extinguished campfire. Cut slate. Really earthy mineral peat. Salt. The dentist's room. Ammonia. A hint of sticky woodspice. Some frgrant herbal notes, pepperment and fennel.
    • Taste
Salty earth, leading onto woodsmoke and wax with a slight sweet lemony flourish and then a big lump of steaming earthy peat.
    • Finish
Medium length. Very salty earth and peat with a slight lingering minty, lemony note.

Even for fans of peaty whiskys an impertinence. The gum flavor settles in the mouth and thwarts even after half an hour any further tastings.
    • Nose
very intense, resinous, smoked salmon, slightly medicated, cork, old wood, leathery
    • Taste
first impression: car tires !, then leather, salty-maritime
    • Finish
long-lasting to persistent, bitter, dry, corky in the end, peaty.

Nice and peaty, phenolic, not sweet, more salty, very full but seems to lack something in the balance. I love peat and definitely love this one, due to its recognisable differences from Laphroaigh and Ardbeg.
