Impossible to guess which distillery to be honest. An enjoyable dram, full of character. It checks all boxes for a PX-matured malt and delivers in most areas. The sour sensation on nose and palate detracts only slightly.
    • Nose
Sweet and confectionary, with lots of figs and dates. A slightly sour-damp undertone emerges — fresh mint and limes, chocolate. Possibly 70% plus cocoa. Werther‘s Originals - so lots of caramel and a touch of toffee too. A delicious nose, although it could‘ve done without the sourness.
    • Taste
Salivatingly sweet, rum-infused peaches and apricots. Caramelized almonds, orange peel, infront of a tanic-sour backdrop as well.
    • Finish
Medium. A PX-infused departure, with sweet raisins and dates. Then thyme tea and faint licorice.

Finally a real delicious dram appeared. There was a certain hint the distillery is between Teaninich and Invergordon. So it really is a Dalmore, to clean up the imaginations. The lines between the 15J old Dalmore and this 12J old are remarkable. Just this cask is full of sherry "only" flavours which is great. The berrys, the nuttines, the sherry finish...everything is there!! Get a bottle if you can !!
    • Nose
      91 91
Soft, berry, butter, nuttiness and the alcohol is far in the background. Very smooth genteleman sherry.
    • Taste

Old school dram. Smoothness of Dalmore with nutts and red berrys. The 52% are totally not noticeable at the start and then the catch with aroma more like ginger and not sharp chili. Doesnt need water at all!!
    • Finish
      88 88
The finish is more like middle long to long but totally satisfying. Stays in the mouth with oak and dry sherry. For this price totally fine!!

This is my kind of Oloroso maturation - no offputting wood or tannic or sour elements and thankfully no bitterness.
I think a good case can be made that this is a Teaninch.
    • Nose
      creamy toffee, dates
    • Taste
molasses, prunes, xmas nut selection, cocoa and coffee grounds
    • Finish
very pleasant Oloroso finish, dark chocolate, very little wood and no bitterness

    Beautiful dram, probably Royal Lochnagar.
Everything is in balance, rich taste, full mouth feel, long finish.
If I had tasted this blind I'd give it an extra 6 years.
    Excellent!!!

Not too easy drinking. A pleasant in-between dram.
    • Nose
      85 85
Brown caramel, dried fruits, raisins, apricots and dates, with slightly spicy aromas and hints of ripe, fresh yellow fruit. Gets brighter with time, date bread, barrel acid comes up. Heat releases menthol. Later cough syrup.
    • Taste
      87 87
Very soft onset, not overly sweet, more balanced with woody aromas. The alcohol starts late, then vigorously. To the back not a lot of oak. In the second sip also clearer traces of Faßsäure. Espresso meets brown sugar.
    • Finish
      86 86
Dries slowly on and on. A pleasant woody finish. Only late comes back some sweetness to the fore.
