On the nose is rather quiet, a lot of menthol, in a nice way, spear mint, fresh and slightly fruity, touch of varnish, perhaps all about Dalmore; so far, so good.
On the palate is all the way Dalmore: cacao, blackcurrant, liquorice, it feels "dark", old wood, varnish. It is an old style, well aged Dalmore. Fresh and peppery on the finish, quite hot.
With water: all the above, but louder, has gained a touch of bitterness and maltiness.
Great, old style distillate aged in not too active cask, winner. Stuff like this can age up to 50 years old. Resemble more the old 35-40yo Dalmore (in style, not in age) than the current core range.
