A bit disappointing, considering the price, it says gently hello and goes home again quite early.

It is a well hyped travel edition with a good marketing-budget. All in all, I feel it is a good dram, a bit pricey for what you get. It is not super-exciting on the nose/pallet.

Not bitter, not too sweet, lots of dried fruits, I had to hunt for other flavors and smells.
    • Nose
      81 81
Nose is in the realm of dried fruits like prune, with a bit of citrus in the back, some chocolate and a bit of oak, mostly dried fruitiness dominating here.
    • Taste
      80 80
Pallet is good, not so complex, some sweetness, a hint of oak, not very spicy, a bit oily.
    • Finish
      79 79
The finish is quite short, not much after-taste, perhaps a bit of he dried fruits again, with some dark chocolate.

I can't believe that this whisky can be sold so expensive, the(macallan?) taste is too ordinary, borrrring

My 1st impression when I opened this was disappointment. So I thought I would give it another ago after a month or 2
    • Nose
      85 85
wood, spice, some sherry, dried fruits and oranges
    • Taste
      83 83
Spicey, slightly bitter, oranges again, A little salt, woody and nuts, almonds ?
    • Finish
      84 84
Still spicey and quite bitter, medium to long. The bitterness lingers.

Its not bad, its just not in the same class as even the old 10yo. It doesn't help that this is 40%. And at £100+ a bottle not good value. Disappointing,
