Whisky Reviews for William Cadenhead 20-year-old CA

- In the nose it shows sherry, spice and also a lot of old grain, light coconut notes. Grain also has a more pronounced influence in the mouth, but it comes from it well matured and works very harmoniously with the sherry notes. The finish is nicely spicy on oak and nutty sherry aromas, some tobacco too, but here too the grain is more present than on the 12er. Without knowing the composition now, the 12er certainly has more malt than the 20er, which tastes more like a clean, beautiful and long-aged grain, with sherry influence. Overall, I find the 20er a little better, because it is set.
Sweet, dried fruits - smells like wine fermenting. A bit of honey and coffee.
Sweet and well balanced. Honey is very prominent, with apples and pear along. A bit of liquorice as well.
Woody, but a great and wet feel. Liquorice and toffee. Medium-long.
- Second door in the Advent calendar, nice part. But a little more percentages would do him good ...
Woody sweet. Fermented fruits.
Again wood, some honey. Musty, stimulates salivation.
Spicy notes with hints of caramel and plum.
Dry, dominant oak.
