The nose starts with tobacco, dark sherry fruit (similar to Glendronach ????), chocolate and some polish. Overall relatively sweet and full, the alcohol is very well integrated.
The alcohol tingles violently in the mouth, then intense fruity-spicy wood aromas spread. It looks older than the label.
The finish is mainly spicy with a lot of wood, also slightly sweet and a little bitter with espresso.
A very barrel-dominated, straightforward, dark sherry barrel representative that unfortunately doesn't leave much of the whisky. The nose is still very interesting and varied, but it looks a bit too hot in the mouth and unfortunately too one-dimensional in the finish, a shame.
