My guess is an approximately 10 year old Speysider. Overall easy to drink, but not very recognizable.

    Notes from a blind tasting.

In contrast to some of the others, I couldn't even perceive a hint of sulfur, the barrel was rather clean.
    • Nose
      85 85
Sherry-fruity immediately after pouring, followed by mint, very ripe yellow fruits. After standing for a while, the acid content increases significantly, slight fermentation notes, and with a little movement sweet and full again. Warmth clearly intensifies the fruitiness.
    • Taste
      87 87
Full and sweet in the beginning, honey, still fruit, slight tingling sharpness, quite dense mouthfeel. Slightly bitter notes towards the back. Significantly drier in the second sip, herbs, light grass, a good portion of white pepper, but the alcohol content seems to be rather low, no alcoholic sharpness.
    • Finish
      86 86
Strong, noticeable warming up in the finish, where the bitter notes continue. The finish itself is medium in length.

Fizzy, spicy and sweet popcorn. some chocolate

The nose reminds me of the Tobermory 10 but is more assertive.
Well balanced, no off notes (except for the metallic notes in the nose, but they disappear quickly). Finish is very drying, but I really enjoyed it.
    • Nose
      85 85
Bold tobacco, cornflakes, white chocolate, brittle chocolates the tobacco gives way to some sour, even metallic notes with more time, thankfully these disappear after two minutes.
Let is sit for 15 minutes and you are left with a pleasant, balanced bouquet of tobacco, brittle chocolates and rum raisins. Well done!
    • Taste
      87 87
chewy and sweet, almost leathery, the chocolates appear again, slightly peppery, trail mix with cranberries. falls behind the nose and finish just a little bit.
    • Finish
      87 87
drying and warming, milk chocolate and grapefruit, faint strawberry, cranberries.
      I really like it!

Craigellachie is my personal discovery of the year - was completely unknown to me before, I have now become a little fan. My first Craigellachie was from "The Maltman" and I've loved him ever since ????.

This pronounced fruity sweetness is amazing. Even the color of the whisky * natural * makes me rave ...

The thing is definitely worth a "try".

  7. Sporx scored this whisky 83 points Connoisseur

Aroma: for the first time recognizable matchstick-sulfur note, fireworks air enrichment

    Flavor: gunpowder, tobacco,

    Aroma: dry, medium long

The fruits are more yellow. Buttery notes. Ordinary sweetie. Malt. Quite possibly a reminder of sulfur removed. Towards the end, the oak becomes noticeable and spicy.
Not a bad whisky in itself. He's not really doing anything wrong. Is for me but rather something for the sideline.
