Round and mild. After a moment's release, pleasant toffee and caramel notes unfold in the nose. The 55% Vol. Are not noticeable. The palate is also very mild and balanced. Short again the caramel and toffee notes, some milk chocolate, crème brûlée followed by warming oak with a very light but pleasant bitterness. The 55% Vol. Are virtually palpable on the palate. The finish is short to medium in length, slightly spicy bitter, accompanied by a roasted note of coffee and brown sugar and some oak, but is (unfortunately) not dominated by this.
All in all, after the first 2cl a very pleasant and pleasing Malt, over the price can be argued as always. For a 14yo Cardhu in CS wonderfully balanced and easy, but already with enough reserves to enjoy on a winter evening.
