Aroma: low intensity, light, sweetish bun with powder, vanilla, lollipops, apricot, salt, heated board in the sun. Over time, bread and malt tones are slightly enhanced, a little perfume appears, a women's cosmetic bag.

Taste: sweet-spicy, lollipops, ginger, orange peel, caramel.

Finish: medium length, zest, decaying ginger, wood, brown bread crust.

    Score: 80

Bottom line: a simple whisky, but somehow attractive, there is even complexity in the aroma, which you do not expect from NAS releases, with a sadder taste. Although not a complex palette of taste, but 46% here is for the good, powerful and bright.

Quite ok, but neither fish nor meat, can't really decide which direction to go.

C: Young, fresh, sour,… this is decent enough whisky that finds itself under the shadow of the 10yo on this occasion.

The Armorik Double Matured comes from a combination of Breton oak barrels and sherry barrels.
    • Nose
      Citrus fruits, apples and spices.
    • Taste
massive kick-off, citrus fruits, spices are only gently present.
    • Finish
Medium-long finish. Oak notes with a little chocolate.

made from Breton oak, under the mountains of Airée and used 3 times maximum:
barrel of nearly 400 liters keeping the distillate 3 years, then a few months with a sherry cask:
nose on vanilla, spices, yellow fruits
the mouth a little astringent, a little solvent, cereals, peach and pear back with a certain freshness, and the wood dry again.
The final on the same markers, pear sweet and a little chocolate, a singular dram through the use of local barrels.

The Breton oak give notes a bit similar to an ex-bourbon cask, which I like. The finish is a bit too short, but it’s a really fine dram.
    • Nose
      83 83
The nose starts on honey, vanilla and solvent, then becomes fruity (apple and citrus notes).
    • Taste
      85 85
The arrival is sweet and silky at first. Mid palate, oak spices kick in, mostly with pepper, then move to caramel and cereals.
    • Finish
      80 80
Medium short, the finish is warming on the tongue, on caramel and honey
