Whisky Reviews for BenRiach 2010 JE

8 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 88.17 points

  1. Mannix65 scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

Acts much older, simple sherry board without edges, alcohol very well integrated - the low draft prevents a higher rating

    Wonderful nose - absolute class.
Great sherry finish. Belongs to the best I've had in my glass and these sherry bombs are exactly my loot scheme. Tremendously diverse. You don't notice his very young age, as is the case with many Benriachs.

Tasted Blind in a tasting competition. Acts much older and lower abv then the numbers show. Great dram!

In itself tasty but leaving almost nonexistent

  8. LittlePeat scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

Color: espresso with mahogany tones. Is that supposed to be a whisky?
    • Nose
      91 91
Plum compote, fermented cherries, blueberries, overripe mirabelle plums. A little wood. A little goulash. The alcohol is hardly felt.
    • Taste
      91 91
Very little alcoholic! To be enjoyed pure. Otherwise the same as in the nose, with the meat and plums getting stronger.
    • Finish
      89 89
Medium to (maybe) long. Plums, mirabelle plums, meat.

Conclusion: Above all, the well-integrated alcohol should be emphasized. Good sherry-aged whisky without any sulfur. More whisky and - above all! - more wood than sherry would have been better.
