- orchard fruits, barley, honey, vanilla, great balance, very nice
- tasty, pure (totally clean and unobtrusive cask), well matured 'tauchers, another speysider that ranks quite highly for me. benefits from a good bit of water. 7/10
barley sugars, very slightly perfumed (lavender?). with water: fruits emerge a bit more, slight apricot, slight guava, a bit of lemongrass heat.
good mix of slightly floral and fruity elements. gentian, salt, mild dried apricot, barley sugars, becomes more towards honeydew in the finish (med long).
- These mid-90s Glentauchers have a narrow flavour profile, but one that I find very agreeable.
Rather rich and deep with notes of wax, cinnamon sugar and (fermented) apples. Notes of vanilla custard, lemon zest, butter cake and even millionare's shortbread. Finally a touch of almond.
Very creamy mouthfeel, followed by that typical spicy/fruity flavour profile. Peppery and chalky yet never too harsh, balanced by the creaminess and an assortment of bitter citrus peel. Some peaches and pear skin too. Rather impressive.
Cinnamon and nutmeg. Lingering and fading into oak.
C: This ever-dependable robust spirit seems to shine as a single malt around this age. Solid!
