I am an absolute Callisto fan. But the VIII he was a pure disappointment. Especially after the two predecessors. I had expected more from the 11-year-old. But he can not get to the VI-he and VII-he.

Very dominant smokes. A pleasant dry sherry note with not quite as much fruit and raisin aromas. This may indeed be something.

Oh dear, what is that ??? Pure alcohol. Then again alcohol at the border to the fusel. The light, subtle touch of a dry sherry in the background.

      Total disappointment

There was nothing. There is nothing. There is nothing.

Maybe at the end of the relatively short finish a light caramel sweet wood note.

      The worst Callisto so far.

Caol Ila always goes somehow. Long finish. Intense notes. Caramel.

    An REVELATION!
    • Nose
Sweet and mild. Port in the nose.
    • Taste
Very well! Port and whisky. In the end smoke. Nice dryness. 4th of July in Arkansas.
Rauch very nicely embedded in the port notes. Distillery character of Caol Ila hardly noticeable.
    • Finish
Warming, sweet and smoky! Medium to long.

sweet, sour red fruits, lemon, light barbecue smoke
    • Taste
      86 86
Alcohol well integrated, creamy, intense red fruits
    • Finish
      80 80
a bit bitter, camp fire smoke, then becomes unpleasant woody musty-foul

The departure is a big disappointment for me.
