The Swedish single malt Mackmyra Vintersol - winter sun - was created in collaboration with the port wine producer Quinta do Vallado, one of the oldest and most famous houses in the Douro valley, the traditional growing area of the port. The sun is far too rarely seen in Sweden in winter, and so the desire arose to create a whisky that is accompanied by the taste of sun-drenched grapes. The result is an aromatic profile, which is characterized by a touch of vanilla, chocolate and pepper during the final maturation in former port barrels. The result is an elegant single malt with a delicate flavor of warm raisins and sun-ripened fruits, tropical berries and buttery pear caramel and roasted oak.
Nose: A fruity taste of strawberries, citrus fruits and pear toffee, vanilla, ginger and white pepper, with a hint of roasted oak.
Taste: Fruity berry aroma with a hint of sour drops, vanilla and tobacco leaves.
Finish: sour fruit candy, lemon, oak
