- SMWS notes:
This is a sweet and fruity dram with some spice notes. On the nose we got dried pineapple, lime marmalade and blackcurrant Starburst chews – but also sisal rope, pencils, dusty tobacco and ground ginger. The palate had more of a sweet and sour astringency – plum chutney, chilli jam, sultanas in curry, lemon or lime peel and pomegranate pith. The reduced nose had blackcurrant Soothers and fruit punch with oak sawdust, liquorice and humbugs. The palate, with water, discovered juicy redcurrants, orange marmalade, spiced plums and apricots in a tagine – and a slightly mouth-nipping after-taste of minerals, liquorice and black jack chews.
