Whisky Reviews for Glen Grant 1965 GM

5 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 90.33 points

  1. lincolnimp scored this whisky 92 points Connoisseur

I agree with Bxpress that this is underpowered and 46-48% it would have surely got to 95 points.

Lovely creamy mouthfeel, I love it.

These old G&M Glen Grants offer some of the nest quality/price aged whisky for 40 + years.

  2. lincolnimp scored this whisky 92 points Connoisseur

    Beautiful
    • Nose
Sweet tobacco nose, smells like a Spanish Gold confectionary tobacco you used to get in the 70`s. Salted caramel, a little plum, digestive biscuit
    • Taste
Lovely mouthfeel, so creamy and very delicate, hints of chocolate, slight Mocha, very faint ginger, light fruit cake.
    • Finish
Not to long but sweet & smooth.

  3. ak47 scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

Very good malt! But only 40% alcohol strength... A cask strength version would be fantastic!

  4. BXpress scored this whisky 92 points Expert Senior

    sample.

If i had to describe "old Whisky" to someone this one would be it. Amazing despite the 40%.
    • Nose
Horse, glue , fresh paint. Gets then spicy with a little bit of cinnamon. Old furniture and the polish. Raisins and pepper. Chocolate and quite bit of ham. A smell of gasoline interestingly enough. Wet tobacco.
    • Taste
This is quite dense for its low ABV and even oily,  with some heavy yet mild Sherry. The tobacco again, the raisins follow. Mint and some baked apple in the background. Farmy/muddy even which is very good. Then it becomes increasingly herbal underlined by caramel. Slightly mushroomy after a few sips(amazing). I'll stop here but i could go on for an hour.
    • Finish
Medium long and oily. Fading away slowly and gently on baked apple, caramel and salty butter.
