    Surprisingly good.
    • Nose
      Orange, heather, campfire and spices, followed by honey, copper coins, paprika.
    • Taste
      A hint of sulfur is the only downside, but that disappears very quickly and gives way to clay, earth, wood fire, smoked meat, orange marmalade and pepper.
    • Finish
      Dry and spicy, with wood fire, almond, coffee and spices.

    Very nice profile, reminds me a lot of sherried Kilkerran.

      Still sticky, more mineral peat. Peach, orange, caramel and dark chocolate. Also clearly some sulphur.

    Young in the nose, flavour is explosive with licoriice and herbs and smoke, finish is also long and a tiny bit of sweet and coffee

    Smoke and sherry have been integrated well, but the still very young distillate cannot be hidden. The spiciness does not disappear with water, it becomes fruity with a touch of sulfur. Reminiscent of the Alriks, only with fewer facets.

      fine and clear smoke and ash, with nutty-sweet oloroso, vanilla, smoked bacon rinds seasoned with red paprika powder, sticky caramel, slightly salty and oily, peppery and spicy oak wood, the small caramel biscuits that are sometimes served with coffee, toasted aromas, raisins and apricots Cherries, traces of balsamic vinegar, unfortunately the alcohol is not perfectly integrated

      botched from the sharp start
      very peppery-spicy oak and Oloroso aromas, strong notes of ash, caramel, raisins and some prunes, vanilla, maritime and oily, greasy with pepper bit, slightly earthy and creamy

      Warm and sweet, vanilla, some freshly planed oak logs lie in fine wood dust, sherry of course and raisins, caramel, smoked bacon and ash, cherry and plum puree, nutmeg, oily elements, cocoa, resin

      Smoked bacon, spicy, sweet
    • Taste

      Again smoked bacon, sweet, raisins. Fortunately, sherry does not dominate.
    • Finish

      Medium to long smoky and sweet finish.

    A good combination of sherry and peat that does not always work. Takes time for the peat to come to the forefront. The sherry buffers any young notes. A good enjoyable dram though with little complexity.

    Tasted at a New Scottish Distilleries Tasting... (btw: the winner was a 21 month old Lindores Abbey cask sample that even pulverized a Kilchoman 100% Islay).
