In the smell super, the taste is unfortunately too pronounced wood, that in my eyes shrinks the whole impression. But otherwise still good whisky.
    • Nose
Plums, very dense and sweet. Okay.
    • Taste
A lot of woody - after the plum sweetness in the smell a little surprises me. Density is almost no here, woodiness is already quite strong for my taste, that would influence fresh barrels?
    • Finish
In the finish, it goes again from wood to plums and generally to sweet.

Another Czech whisky that I'm pleasantly surprised. It is necessary to give her time in the glass to "oxygenate" ... I gave her 1 hour.
The alcohol is completely unnoticeable, quite sweet, fruity with beautifully blended chocolate elements, cherries and wood shavings that give an amazing aftertaste.
I even shyly add water, because I was afraid to spoil the whole effect.
    • Nose
      86 86
clear, sweet, varnished parquet, milk chocolate, ripe cherries, cherries in chocolate
    • Taste
      88 88
sweet, honey, beeswax, cherries in chocolate again, candied orange peel,
    • Finish
      88 88
medium long, quite sweet, pleasant, slightly acidic end with a hint of plum, ripe cherry and pencil aromas

Very good whisky for 1500 CZK. Probably the best Gold Cock I've ever tasted.
    Sweet, plum, plum jam.
    Again plum sweetness, wood.
    Medium, sweet, delicate.

Additional info: A new edition of twenty-year-old Czech whisky Gold Cock in strength 49,2%, while the percentage of abv corresponds to the latitude that intersects the HQ of RUDOLF JELÍNEK. When stocks of malt whisky were moved from Dolany to Vizovice, the year 1999 was evaluated as generally weaker. After a thorough analysis of the situation, it turned out that most of the time this vintage matured in Dolany in old, exhausted casks. Therefore, it was filled into completely new, heavily charred casks with a volume of about 290 liters, from Bařina cooperage, and matured in those.
