The taste dissapoints. First comes the whisky, then it gets washed away by sherry. I don't like this, as it is not integrated. Too bad.
The sherry tails into the finish which is just nutty an sweet, really (too) sweet but not much more.
All in all, the 60,9% are buffered by the sherry sweetness.
If sherry and whisky would be one together, this would be smashing stuff. But it is rather 0,5x0,5=0,25. I am sorry Tomatin...
Without water 87/83/83
With water (8drops on 25ml) the nose gets more defined towards a good oloroso whisky (88). On the palate, sherry and whisky are rather working together with a slight sherry tail remaining (87) but the tail remains in the finish (85). The dram gets much sweeter overall - too sweet to justify a higher score.
Further 8 drops of H2O on 12ml: more defined, more integrated but with even increased undefined sweetness, which is a little too much for me. Nose would go up in the score, the finish drags it down again, so I leave it at 87 which maybe should rather be 86. Though, if you like these sherry bombs and I mean sherry not whisky, go for it, you'll love it.
