last batch with more PX, and less oloroso! released 12 days before WL 2019:
a spicy nose, quite young, then wood, a little musty, macerated fruit.
The mouth brings bourbon vanilla very strong, tenacious and pleasant, well marked spices, dry wood then wet, it smells strong!
the fruits are rather on grapes, mandarins, peaches cooked and macerated, amalgamated.
packets of nuts a little crushed too
the finish is a little dry at the beginning, then the woody / stewed sherry look takes up beautifully.

Pleasant cask strength from GlenDronach, one of the better batches the distillery has released.
    Pound for Pound solid dram.
    • Nose
First nosing is musky with sandalwood and obvious oak speaking. After a little breathe it starts to show complexity. I'm getting cherries, maraschino with cocoa powder. Something dark and sticky in there as well, manuka honey / treacle / golden syrup. There is something slightly floral about this one, a different side this sherry style. Still a peppery note there tho, no doubt about it, this is Glendronach.
    • Taste
Punchy on arrival, a sharp arrival but not spicy. It's like a blast of japanese plum wine, theres notes of cherries in the way of cherry bitters. Plenty of PX in this one, it's a sweet raisin filled ride.
    • Finish
Cocoa powder, chocolatey finish backed up with woody notes. Soft in the finish,

Aroma is full and fruity with darker earthy notes combining nicely; Palate is very similar with minor shifts in the profile from tropical to more orchard style of fruitiness; Finish is a muddled sweet and earthy profile. It’s nice.
    • Nose
Graham, char, hay-like malt, citrus, tropical fruit, red Twizzlers and dried dark fruit with a touch of dry olde candy sweetness.
    • Taste
Fresh pastry, char, earthy malt, citrus, dried orchard fruit, red Twizzlers and dried dark fruit with a touch of dry olde candy sweetness.
    • Finish
Med-long -> Fruity, nutty and earthy.
