Whisky Reviews for Port Charlotte #LADDIEMP8 - 2008

- Could pass off as anew make or a 6 months matured make. Very reserved, give time to air of at least 30 mins.
Very dry and hard. Raw liquor giving off that new make scent rusted metal and thinner. very reserved, putting on a wall. Had to breathe in hard to obtain vanilla and some kind of little sweetness of raisins.
Strong heavy tannins, dark fruits and organic matter. Smells like a gas station full of LPG. Carbon monoxide, cigarette smoke.
Salted shellfish baked with lemons and ripen mangoes. Pleasant surprise from that rather harsh nose profile. Honey mixed with milk, parrafin like mouthfeel. Raw grain. Low peat concentration, could pass off as none.
Heat and pepper numbness prickle all around - red pepper flakes, paprika with a dash of numbing peppercorn.
Sour note to end, short to medium finishing. Has that weird rusted metallic flavor again like its other 2 brothers, though this one is extra strong.
Finishing from the body is short to medium, however the lingering ash continues on.
- Sooty candles, metal, raw meat, sweetness, and eating peated barley. Uff. A little bit too special in my book. But I get why there are a lot of fans. Full review (in German): https://keinehalbendrinks.de/2019/10/31/port-charlotte-laddiemp8/
